Seller tips
A few simple things that help your listing get found and trusted.
-
Photos that answer questions
- Shoot in daylight. Overcast days give soft, even light with no harsh shadows.
- Start with one clear photo of the whole item, land or animal. The first photo is your cover.
- Add close-ups of what a buyer would want to check: wear, tyres, teeth, fences, water, paperwork.
- Use real, recent photos of the actual item. No filters, no stock images.
-
A title people search for
- Say what it is, the key detail and where it is.
- Example: “Round bales, lucerne, 60 available, Dubbo NSW”.
- Skip ALL CAPS and “!!!” — plain titles look more trustworthy.
-
A clear price
- Show a price if you can — buyers see straight away whether it suits them. Enter 0 only if you really want “Price on request”.
- Use the Price note for extras like “+ GST”, “per head” or “ONO”. No need to repeat the price there.
- Check a few similar listings first so your price is fair for your area.
-
An honest description
- Cover condition, age or hours, what is included and any known faults.
- Say how pick-up or delivery works and when the buyer can inspect.
- Being upfront about faults saves wasted trips for both sides.
-
Licence details (some categories)
- Land and real estate, livestock, and broker or agent services need licence details.
- Our team checks these listings before they go live and may ask for more information.
-
After you list
- Reply to comments politely and quickly — other buyers read them too.
- Let buyers inspect before they pay, and hand over the right paperwork.
- Mark your listing as sold once it is gone, from My listings.
